I consider caller ID essential. I do not answer any one I do not recognize, nor do I answer any number I don't know. If it is important, they can leave a message and I may or may not call back. My choice. It seems to me it would not be hard for the various phone providers to be able to detect and kill large numbers of calls originating from some source if they chose to. Apparently, they do not choose to do that. So many of them are massive robo calls. Maybe we need to get our legislators working on it. If a source has a valid reason to make that many calls, they could apply for a permit to do so!
