Thanks, Elaine....I will spray with ScotchGuard. I never thought of that.
I'm not worried about the zipper part because this will be for the plane, to carry all the stuff that I need to get to during the trip, not anything real valuable. (Sweater, book, snacks, neck pillow etc...) I will have a tiny purse with valuables tucked away.
