Is there any kind of general rule as to how much it too much when piecing together odds and ends of batting for one quilt? My current project is about 55" x 55". I'm trying to use up my old batting (all the same kind) rather than buy more. I have about 12-14 pieces in various sizes that I can sew together to cover the area needed . Is this considered too many?
I piece batting all the time. Too expensive to throw away scraps these days. When piecing, I like to use my serpentine stitch at the widest. Does a great job of sewing the edges together. I butt edges together tightly, and the stitch takes care of the rest.
