In my opinion, no. I don't get blogs delivered to my email. I understand lots of people do, but I prefer an unclogged inbox. Newsletters also seem to be designed to sell you products.

One thing I will mention is that most free blogging platforms have ads built into them to generate revenue for the blogging platform (WordPress, Blogger, etc.) I have ad blocking widgets added to my browser so I don't see these. I think we are over-bombarded with advertisements in our lives.

Lots of blogs have a list of bloggers *they* follow on a sidebar. So you can spend a decent amount of time clicking through and discovering new blogs. If you see a show or YouTube that features a quilter who you find interesting, chances are she/he might have a blog. Google the name and you might find something.
