I would:
1. Remove the needle
2. Remove the bobbin and bobbin case
3. Open the door at the left end of the machine
4. Remove the top via the two screws
5. Remove the bottom cover plate

Turn the hand wheel looking at each now visible area and see if anything is visibly binding or hitting something.

If nothing visible I would next drop the motor out and repeat.
