Since we are still chatting and posting pictures, I did re-do my green Hawaiian back. Did I need to?? -- no. But I'm happier with the end result and I didn't have anything else to do at my sewing group. Picture 1 was already posted here, but for comparison posting again -- I don't like how the flowers at the seam made noticeable scallops... I tried putting together the various sides without adding more fabric, but none of those really worked, so I pieced in a cut at the top, matched the flowers together (they actually go different directions) and even with the long seam, am happier.
For Ashgrove, I was a happy solo quilter for decades and then I discovered the joys of quilting with other people. VQW is similar to my Tuesday (real life) sewing group, we come with whatever we are doing and share. Some of the projects are really wowsers, and others more mundane. But when we are dealing with low motivation or loss of mojo, we can often be inspired by someone else's mundane project or at least get pushed to doing something ourselves. Plus I find by announcing what my plans are at the beginning helps me be more accountable about getting them done -- but with zero outside pressure.
