The blocks are 9.5" square before assembly. For the quilt I made (63X90), you need 24 A blocks; 12, B; and 34, C. The strips are all 1.5" wide. They range in length from 1.5" to 9.5". Block A is shown as only an 8.5" block, so you will have to add one more round, finishing with a 9.5" dark strip. The quilt top shown as E is about 63" square. You would obviously need fewer blocks to make the square quilt. I would suggest that you decide which size you want to make and first gather the correct number of light and dark strips that you need. You need a lot of them. I hope this helps.
