I was married twice before, the first couldn't seem to keep his pants on when I wasn't around, and the second one was extremely controlling. Wasn't interested in even dating, let alone getting married. Working as a manager trainee at Lucky Lil's casino in Three Forks, Montana...combination truck stop and casino. Was a slow night, no one in the casino except my friend Becky, sitting at the bar and we were talking. (these are really small "mini" casinos....maximum 20 machines) This guy walked in, just traveling thru the casino to get to the C-store. I told Becky, "See that one? He wants me...he just doesn't know it yet!" It was our "line" to tell each other that we thought guys were cute...

Fast forward a bit, and Becky had gone home for awhile, the casino was empty, and "that one" came back in. He was a trucker, was stuck in Three Forks because the plant that he was loading at overloaded his truck and he couldn't reload until the next day at the earliest. I waited on him, he drank a soda and played a five in one of the machines, then came and sat at the bar and talked to me for awhile....flirting like mad! The conversation progressed, I found out that he was 10 and a half years younger than I am, and tried to send him packing! He wasn't having any part of it. I let him know on no uncertain terms that I wasn't having any part of a "steady boyfriend" and I most certainly was NOT going to marry again, that I would NEVER answer to another man for as long as I lived!!

Persistant and determined man that he is, he won my heart when he called me from New Mexico and as we were talking, told me to look out the window, asking if I saw the full moon. He told me then that we'd never be far apart, because we were under the same moon!

We got married six months later...on Memorial Day, he chose the date saying that he couldn't think of a more memorable way to spend it!

He still looks at me with a sparkle in his eyes...almost 11 years after I did the very thing I swore I'd never do again! :)
