If you are trying to view the embroidery files on your computer, you will need a special program on your computer.

Some websites offer zipped files which include multiple formats and design sizes, and some websites offer individual file formats and sizes to download separately. The download links are usually available in your account on the website.
Sew Sweetly offers daily free embroidery designs, and you can easily download the designs from the "My Downloads" section on the website.

It would be helpful if you tell us what type of embroidery software you are using. Then we could tell you how to download designs and unzip them and send to your USB stick.

In general, it is done in the same way that any other downloaded file is. If you discover that it is "zipped." then unzip it according to your operating system's instructions. You should then be able to transfer it to your embroidery machine.

I have free basic software that was free to download from both Viking and Bernina on my computer mainly to help me transferr some of my older embroidery that is on CD to my computer than to the USB stick. My newer Viking and Bernina have basic editing software built into the sewing machines and I don't think I will need more than what I can do on the screen. I do have an older Viking software on my laptop that requires a dongle but I don't even know if it will work with the current version of windows. The current machines have all the tools I used to use on that software now in the machine.
