I think that I would just collect yards and yards of it even if I didn't quilt. It is just so pretty and soft. well most of the time. I would be broke if I went to the LQS as much as I want to. When I do buy it seems like I can't get out for under $50. Why must fabric be so expensive?!?!?!?!
thank goodness they are or I would own two stores by now - my present stash (that might rival some stores) and the money I would have put into another!

My first stop is always the fat quarters. I like to pick up a couple just for fun. Then I look at the novelties.

I make a list of what I need. Get them first. Then I wander around and see what calls my name- usually they are all sending subliminal messages as soon as I walk in the door. I don't usually do the notions- just the fabric speaks my language.

I usually end up with 1 or 2 extra things because it matches something I have. But I have been known to "get in and get out" without giving into temptation.

I love to wander the aisles at the lqs. It's hard to go home- I want it all and those darn ladies are just too helpful!

    Inquiring minds want to know.
I do that on line (gravitate first to batiks), but the only nearby fabric store is Joann's and their batik supply is laughable ... hardly worth a look. I bought a yard there a month ago for one of the fabrics in a French braid quilt strip. I used a coupon, but asking price was over $10 and the quality was so poor when I compared it what I already had for the braid strip that I could not even use it.

I check out the Fat Quarters, then the kits, notions, then the fabric.

I always go to the right and around the store. I'm not into batiks at all, so I don't even slow down. I spend lots of time in the kids section. Also, looking at books.

I usually go to the remanent bins first, then check out the quilting books for inspiration. Then to the sale fabrics...
    notions are usually last.
    I LOVE TO BROWSE..
