    I love the Hunter Star pattern. I like the first one because I think it shows off the star much better.

    I like the 2nd one. The pink squares just seem to blend better. Love the colors. I thought my dog was the only one that "just had to lay across anything I was working on."

    I like the second one.

    I have two cats and they both love quilts and one just love to lay on any fabric have to keep my sewing room door closed or have cat hair and lots of wash to do.

    As a wife of a man who was in a nursing home for three years,
    I would strongly suggest that you put the owner's name on that
    quilt and probably with crayons or something that can not be
    easily removed. The thefts in nursing homes goes on all the time,
    some of the time it is mentally empty folks who live there and when
    they see something pretty, they simply declare it theirs and take it
    when the owner is out of his/her room.

    Even though your quilt inspector seems to favor the first one, I think I do like the second one better.

    second... i think the pink blocks being on a diagonal is more dynamic.

    Both are very pretty, I love your colors. It's a tough call but I think I would go with the first one.
