OK...I have finished the top and the back of my quilt and I am using a 'sheet blanket' type middle instead of batting. It will be reversible.

I have made a few tops before but this will be my first 'quilt'. I have also made a few blankets. The problem is I really don't want this to look quilted, but I can't figure out how to put it together otherwise. And if I did quilt it, how do I do that?...meaning, what pattern.

Should I just make it two blankets instead of reversible?

    Please help!

The back, which is the second pic, now has its black boarder all the way around it.

You can tie with what I call an invisible tie. some would use clear thread. But I just take the needle and thead from the back to the front and go back down right beside where you came up. Do this 3 times and on the back tie off your thread really close and tight. Then snip your thread close to the back. I use a matching thread so it won't show. I use regular thread not yarn. So you are tieing without it showing off. Your thread should hide and not be seen unless you look real close.

You asked if you should just make two quilts instead of reversible and I lost my breath! It is so gorgeous reversible. Stunning. You have done an excellent job and I agree with not wanting it to look 'quilted' but a little bit of the look won't hurt. The invisible stitching or tieing are great ideas. Everyone on this board is so helpful.

Thank you so much! I started tieing it today, but with a 4yr old running around, it will take a while. I'll update when I'm done with it. Thank you all so much for the encouragement and the information.

I'd love to see a more up close pic of the front! That will be a gorgeous quilt! I love black and white!
