I'm glad so many are interested in tablerunners, and I'm pleased that you've joined this swap. I've thought about a winter swap, and all I can say now is "maybe." I'll see what the interest is as we progress through this swap. There are so many signed up for this one that I'm just hoping I can keep everything straight. Plus, for me personally, mid-September through December is my busiest time of year at work, and I put in some really long hours. It's the end of our fiscal year and I have major reports due, an audit, and an annual report to write and edit. I'd have to make sure I could manage the swap during that time period.
If we would do winter, I would need to shorten the signup period and everyone would need to abide by an earlier mailing date so that projects could be wrapped up by mid-November before the holidays begin. Otherwise, people's busy schedules would get in the way of meeting the mailing deadline, and there are so many packages in the mail/UPS/FedEx that time of year, I think it would be best to just be done earlier. Also, some people would welcome Christmas runners (and would want to have them before Christmas!) while others would want a winter theme not connected to the holidays. So partners would need to receive each other's names earlier to know what each other prefers.
Let's get this swap underway and we can revisit this topic at the end of August to see if there is interest.

Please don't misunderstand...I'm really, really happy this swap is taking off. I LOVE doing it. I don't mind the work. It's great to see this go from a crazy idea to having so many people join in. I'm getting very excited to see what fall projects we come up with...there are so many creative minds out there! I just need to realistically look at my time commitments this fall to ensure I could handle the swap effectively. I don't want something going wrong because I was not on top of it. I wouldn't want anyone to have a bad swap experience. I think a winter swap would be a LOT of fun too! So many design possibilities...you can see which way I'm leaning...let's just not sign up yet.

I am excited about the fall swap. I have made a fall tablerunner top and am now working on a halloween one so I will be ready to send the appropriate one to my swap partner as soon as I know what she/he wants! It gave me a project to work on and heck what a good idea that is. I love table toppers, runners and wall hangings. My quilts I love to make tops but not quilt them so give me the smaller items anyday. I have so much Christmas fabric I might make one or two of those now too so if there is a swap for winter I will be ready!!! (and if teacup is too busy to run it maybe someone else can tackle the swapping of names or share in the duties which are huge if you look at the numbers of swappers).
