For all those working on their own Dear Jane blocks, this may be helpful....

I met a lady yesterday who has completed one Dear Jane and has FIVE MORE in progress! And....she is in her 80s!! Whew! Most of us will be doing great to have one finished by the time we're her age!!

She showed me how she keeps track of her blocks and what fabrics she's used, and that's what I wanted to pass along to you....she made a "storyboard" for each of her DJs in progress. As she completes a block, she glues a little piece of the fabric(s) used into the appropriate square.

Below are photos of my storyboard that I made up this afternoon. I didn't start with a specific color plan like many of you smart ladies did, so I'm using colors at random, although all have a civil war/reproduction look to them. With the board I will now be able to see at a glance whether I need to add more or less blocks of a color family with the hope of ending up with a more coordinated look.

Perhaps this will be helpful to others. Have a great day!
    Karen

There is something like this I think on the dearjane.com site. I need to use this when working on mine but had forgotten about it will have to print one out. Thanks for reminding me.

Here is the link for the Dear Jane site in case those of you that are working on your Dear Janes were not aware of this. It has a lot of helpful hints on the various blocks and this is a great group to get tips and you can see others progress on their Dear Janes.

Who knew but I already follow this blog on my blog. I have 2 blogs one just for my Dear Jane and the other for my UFOs. The Dear Jane I have not worked on since March as I am busy working on UFOs.
