    Use steam setting on iron, and steam it out, I did this when I was making batiks. Absorbant white paper towels on bottom(layer thickly), then pressing cloth on top, I used a linen tea towel, not an applique pressing cloth.

    Thanks everyone for the suggestions. Since it is a pieced top - I'm not sure the iron is going to do a great job of getting the wax out of the seams, we are going to try the boiling method - sounds like it should work - all of the fabric is 100% cotton. We'll cross our fingers it works and we'll post an update afterwards.

    I've used a paperbag and a hot iron sucessfully many times in getting wax off fabric and even out of carpet. Good luck!
