    There aren't that many here in NE PA. I watch for them all the time. I did buy a 1973 Singer Young Miss, like new, in the box for $10 yesterday.

    Wish I lived in Portland. I really want a treadle sewing machine! (Not that I NEED another machine - just remnds me of learning from my grandmother).

    Well where do you live? Check out your local craigslist. I bet they have a treadle machine either there or at a yard/garage sale in your area. I found mine at a yard sale. Seems they are less expensive at yard sales than on craigslist. I paid $25. for mine, but I have seen them for up to $1,000.00 on craigslist. They have no idea that Singer and other Vintage companies made 50,000 machines a year in some cases. They just are'nt that rare..
