Hi and welcome. I too, made a king size for my first quilt. It was a JoAnn's block of the month. Cost a fortune, but my granddaughter really loved it. She got it as a wedding gift. Not sure if I will ever make a King again. Would love to see a pic when it is finished.

Susie, that is a lovely 1st quilt as for the quilting, you know what they say - "practice make perfect"

Actually I can't talk as I don't quilt mine (I save up and send them out to be done) however like you I have been practicing on small items like table runners and place mats so that I can attempt to do a quilt myself one day.

Keep at it and you''ll get there with the result you wish in the end.

    Hi Maybe1day,
Thanks for liking my quilt. I just don't quilt enough to get good but I can sew it together so it doesn't fall apart. LOL.
I didn't get a chance to practice today but will tomorrow.
    :)

    Penny,
Ok ok! It has a home. It is MY quilt so maybe the drive I need will be to give it to myself ALL done for Christmas. LOL.

I've actually cut the border fabric and will sew them together and onto the quilt today. I have been practicing my free motion swirls.
I want to do some straight stitching and don't know if I should use a walking foot and make them perfect or free motion them. The free motion straight stitch sounds dangerous to me. LOL.
Thanks for the kick in the butt girls.
