When I am repairing quilts like this, I usually applique a butterfly or heart over the offending spot.

I like the quilt now that I have seen the whole quilt. I like your idea of the blue border. Go narrow (2 ') on it and the a 4-6 ' on the outside border. Gives you a nice area for special quilting. I like the colors, they are bright and cheerful.

Try to remember that you are saving something started when the quilter was starting to fade just a bit. The small amount of off matched seams are very unnoticable, We do have a 5 foot rule and no quilt police on site, so try not to worry too much about it, It is a treasure for the daughter and she will not notice it at all. I promise

My darling don't be so hard on yourself! That quilt is beautiful.....And the beauty of it all is that you finished it for your sister, then the joy of it all is in the giving.

Seams not matching is not the worse thing in life. It is a beautiful quilt and you are a good person to try to finish it for her for your niece. She will love it.

It is beautiful, and she will love it, because her mother had a hand in it. and you took the time to finish it, that is the best gift you could give. God bless.

I think it looks great and I bet the daughter will not even notice if there are a few places where it doesn't match up to your liking. She will love it because her Mom was the one who started it and you was thoughtful enough to finish it!! I think the colors are beautiful together. Just finish it and when it is quilted it will add alot to it!!
