I used the small end of the tie and it made the points. I also used a soft fusible stabilizer.

did you just leave the small end of the tie intact (probably after removing the liner)?

again, it's so nice of you to keep answering questions!
Your quilt was definitely a hit.

Yes I did leave the small end intact. I did remove the liner. I don't mind answering all of the questions. I have been off line for three weeks. My husband and I have retired and we move to our new retirement home. Once I get my house organized and my sewing room unpacked I want to make me another tie quilt. As you have probably read I made that quilt for the widow of a retired minister at the church my husband and I were pastoring.

That is a beautiful quilt, not sure if I can do it or not, but I'm going to try. Thanks again.

I am glad to know that other fabrics would work with the ties and not having to use just silk. The only silk I have been able to find it too heavy (I think) ..or nubby weave and I didn't use that.

The cotton that you used... any particular type you liked with this.

I have close to enough ties but as I look at them I am thinking I could use this for that and so forth. I have found several that are Christmas theme and several that might go with those for a tree skirt...

    Thanks for your patience..
