I have had that experience with my featherweight. My technician told me to use canned air and blow into the bobbin area after each use.
I really does help, and is cheap compared to having to take it to our tech. He also told me that old thread gives off more lint than does newer thread.
Lots of things I didn't know, but have learned the hard way! The bobbin area of most any sewing machine he told me is easy to get "gummed up" with lint. The canned air works wonders!

Isn't that a great feeling? To fix it yourself. Good job

Great job! I know that made you feel good. Have you purchased those little tools for the vacumn cleaner? I bought a little vacumn and use these attachments to vacumn my machine often. They sell the tools at either Lowes or Home Depot.

I also have a brother. I used unwaxed dental floss thru the thread guides and also found lint...fixed!

I read about the floss somewhere. Glad yours was fixed.
