I wanted to do a bargello, but have been too afraid to start cutting, I didn't want to ruin all that fabric.

Well, this past weekend, I bit the bullet, I started cutting the strips.
Then sewed the strips together..... and ironed all the seams in the same direction. Is that the correct way, the same direction? I hope so. Well, I've just cut strips again... I'm not using a pattern, I'm just wingin' it as I go.
I'm liking the look of it so far, not near as complicated as some of the beautiful bargello's I've seen posted here, but I'm pleased with how it's turning out so far.
I used the colors exactly how they were in the bundles, I see one that looks out of place, but thats where it was in the bundle, and I really dont want to unsew every strip to move it.
Any suggestions? Would you move it?

    Thanks for looking!
I bought the exact same bundles with the exact same thing in mind, you have convinced me I can do it so here goes, I will let you know how I do.

Was this a special offer on the bundles? Would you mind telling where you purchased them? Thanks, Rosalie

BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! Wish I was brave enough to try that. I'm afraid of ruining all that fabric. Besides haven't the slightest idea how to do bargello

How wide did you cut the strips? As I look at it, I think I can kind of see what you do. What will you make after you get them sewed together???

Rosalie, I found this deal at Michael's when they had put all their fabric on clearance. This was a few months ago, so I would guess they wouldn't have any fabrics any longer.
But I did see the same bundles at Hobby Lobby, and you could use your 40% coupon.

I cut my first strips 2 1/2 inches.

When making the design i cut them anywhere from 1in to 2 1/2 inches.
