Lots of people are waking up to what their parents and grandparents got rid of years ago. In my town's newspaper there has been running a want ad for a Featherweight for over a week now. Someone really knows what she or he wants!! Might be a surprise Christmas present for some lucky person.

I love my vintage machine, will not give her up for anything, and I have no interest in the new machines, needle-up, down, is for the birds as far as i'm concerned.

You can start your own quilting club now. Wish I was close, I would join.

I wish I had not worn my mom's circa 1920 Singer Threadle Machine out. It was a real work horse and stitched great. It had a button holer and ruffle foot, after production, of course.

lucky you. enjoy. In 1961 I had a Singer I bought new in 1956 and it needed a new belt. I was very busy, so I sent my DH to the Singer store, writing down the model, etc. when he returned, no belt. when questioned, he said the man would be by in a couple of hours. "man", I don't need a man to change the belt. He just laughed. When the "man" came, he brought me a new 401 Singer, with all the attachments. I still have the machine, it still works great, all the discs and attachments still working. my DH passed away in 1989 from cancer, but the memories are still good.
