Have you ever heard of a baby doing this?

So for fun I decided I put her on - she still can't even sit without a little support. And sure enough she poops. After she went the second time, I'm convinced she knows what she's doing. I'm absolutely amazed. I thought the dad was a little bit nuts when he told me he bought her the potty chair... I've never even heard of trying to potty train a child until at least 18 months for the most mature.
Do you know of other babies that potty train so early, or is my family just full of slow developers?

My younger DD (Nyna) was potty trained at thirteen months. It was a real good thing I could sew, since size zero panties were way too big. I used a "Chatty Cathy" doll pattern (now I have dated myself) to make them. Her nick-name for several years was 'nineytinyhiney'. She has since grown the family caboose, so now we tease her about being a 'buns over achiever'! (We all have the 'bubble' problem.)
P.S. I still don't know why we keep getting told we are a bunch of smart alecks!

IN AMERICA WE WAIT TO LONG TO TEACH CHILDREN.
We were sent to serve in Spain when our youngest was two
years old. We were befriended by a wonderful family, they
loved our daughter and had her speaking fluent Spanish in a
matter of 5 weeks. Young children are like sponges, they can
learn so very fast, especially languages!
