Maybe by now you have seen the answer. It is an embroidery design that I made on my embroidery machine. Everyone has been so nice in their comments.

You are so right. You do it in sections starting from the trunk and work your way up. Here is the URL to the youtube showing you, this could explain it much better than I could ever explain it.

I really can't say how long it takes, because I only did a few steps each day between other projects. I think it took longer to cut out all the fabric, batting, backing. Oh and I did iron on light weight interfacing to the back of the front fabric just because I wanted to be sure there was enough stiffness. It was pretty easy, I slowed my machine down so again that takes a little longer to stitch out. I think the next one will will put my machine up to med. speed and see how that goes. Lots of fun doing the hot fixed crystals.

UPDATE: I'm over whelmed by everyone's comments. I see some have even gotten the embroidery design to stitch them out too. Our monthly Quilt Party group has two meetings one is during the day and the other group is in the evening. But for the Christmas party both groups are together. When the hostess held up my tree I heard a lot of oohs and aahs in the crowd. The lady that won it is a very nice lady in the day group which is the one I go to. I was so happen someone I knew won the tree. She said she couldn't wait to show it to her daughter. By the way I did win 2 door prizes. One was a hand made ornament and the other was a 4 block square table topper. So I did very well too. I would guess there were about 80 people at the party. So much fun.
PS. I tried to answer as many questions as I could, if I missed something or someone please let me know. Merry Christmas to all.

But hey I had fun making it. I plan on making more for family Christmas presents. This is the same tree, I just tried it with 2 different back ground colors. Thanks for looking.
It is just beautiful and will be treasured by anyone that receives it. Question, do you have to have an embroidery machine to make this? I do not have one, but I would love to make this
