    I like both ways (no help from me). Had a thought though. How about putting four black triangles in the corners and you will have the "illusion" of a black circle. Much easier and quilter's choice. Good luck. Let us see the finished product.

    I like the ring, but would make the ring narrower - it over powers the beautiful tree - let more of the background show around the tree

    With the ring. The ring frames the tree and makes it more pronounced. I might make the ring bigger though, to give the tree a little breathing room.

    I think a thinner ring would look better.
    I too think I like the ring, but maybe about half as wide.
