I was so depressed having to move to begin with, I got worse after.

It only took our lady about 5 hours and I gave her a bonus for the job that she did. When we move next time, I will be sure to have someone come in and clean before we move in. By the time you backup that truck to the door, the last thing you will want to do is clean. I learned my lesson.
This is excellent advice too. I've moved before where the people leaving the house didn't clean at all. It's very discouraging. It's hard to understand why anyone would do such a thing. Thanks for the advice.

Plastic bags for smaller things is a great idea too.
No, I have already planned to take my sewing machines and computer in my car. DH can take his precious items in his car. I don't even want to trust him to take care of my sewing machines. It took me too long to find just the right ones, and break myself in with them. Plus I'll want to have them set up right away. My stash, however, is something else. I won't be able to fit it all in my smallish car. Maybe I could get one of my daughters to bring it in a small rental truck. But first it all has to be carefully packed.

It's not a long move. Just an hour and a half away. But in that short hour and a half, if I have movers, which I will, stuff could be broken or lost forever. I know this because when we moved here from St. Augustine, they broke some things and lost something else. I don't know how they managed to do this.

Oh my gosh! Your room is just beautiful! Believe me, mine will be nothing like that. I'm still fighting to get a house with a separate room for me to use. DH has been saying that we need to downsize. You know what that means ... "we don't need a separate quilting room!" ;)

Well good luck with your move, and maybe when you are settled we can maybe meet at the beach some day not to far to St Augustine and any excuse to go to beach is fine for me.

I'd love to have you. And your DH too. Keep in touch!
