I love to read and do every day, but it's been a hard few months and I'm having trouble concentrating on anything with a very involved plot. I realize I have turned a few pages and have absorbed nothing! Lol. Same thing with my current audiobook.

Any suggestions for a great read that isn't "heavy" or too terribly sad? My usual go-to authors for this type of thing would be, say, Maeve Binchy or Fannie Flagg (along those lines), but I'm caught up on everything they have written.

    Thanks!

The Mitford series. I loved them. Jan Karon is the author. I also love Andrew Greely, especially his Nualla Anne books
I like mysteries. the ones set in things like a resturant or a knitting store or any crafty place. I read a lot . I just like a good story. Janet Evanovich cracks me up. I love her grandmother.

Mignon Franklin Ballard has cute little mysteries with a guardian angel. Check out Billie Letts, Leanne Ellis, Vonette Z Bright, they are several I read when I get tired of my suspence novels. I just finished one by Joyce Magnin, Charlotte Figg Takes Over Paradise and went back and picked up The Prayers of Agnes Sparrow.

I am a great fan of author 'Lesley Pearse', an English author. I have all her books and they are fantastic.

Another good book I have recently read is 'Kate Morton's The Forgotten Garden - the best book I have ever read !

My all-time favorite books are Emilie Richards' Shenendoah Album Series. In order they are:
    Wedding Ring
    Endless Chain
    Lover's Knot
    Touching Stars
    Sister's Choice
The same character's are in each book and you'll feel like they are old friends by the end of the first book.
