My woodworking experience began something like yours. I have 3 passions. Sewing, gardening, and woodworking. Thus, I have a sewing room that also expands into the living room, 5+ gardens and a woodworking room. My stash of wood is in a different basement space. My husband always 'asks' before using any of my wood stash. -- This may just be the beginning of another very functional craft.

It seems to me that woodworking isn't very different from quilting. You cut large pieces into smaller pieces and put them back together. Comgrads on finding a solution!

Never thought of it that way. Of course that is why we can do woodworking as well as quilting. Sure does make sense to me.
I've always felt that wood is almost plastic, the way we can bend, cut, glue and fix it together and make a lovely, practical piece of wood that helps us in our work.
