I am going to be in the Orlando and Daytona Beach areas soon and am looking for some "must visit" quilt shops. Any suggestions? 8-)

How far do you want to go? Several good ones in Jacksonville, Fl...Calico Station and Cinnamon's Quilt Shop...Alachua, FL has Buttons and Bows.....Ocala, FL has Peggy's Quilt Shop (aka Peggy's Heirlooms) and Tomorrow's Treasures.....All couple hours away from where you'll be.....

The Quilt Place in Rockledge (east of Orlando). Lots of samples for inspiration and very friendly/helpful staff.

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm looking to stay under an hour for travel time from either location so I can have a little "me" time but not be away from the family too long.

I'm not near the Orlando or Daytona area so am not familiar with quit shops there. Try googling quilt shops in Orlando & also Daytona. Have a fun time!

Quilt Shop of DeLand !!!! Minutes from Daytona Beach - well maybe 30 min -- Judy Henson is the owner. She is a delight. Has her own fabrics/books/patterns. Have never left her store without learning something! Enjoy your trip to FL!

Hope you have better luck than I did in FL. I was in The Villages and found one quilt shop and it wasn't that great. Good Luck. I'll be watching this thread to see what I missed.

I live in The Villages and we have never had a quilt shop, but have several within an hours drive. The closest 15 min north is Whipperwill Station - beautiful fabric, but like going to a library. DeLand - Dade City - Ocala - Trenton with cafe - all have nice quilt shops. I love to hear about the quilt shops I haven't been to yet in FL. Sounds like a few special ones on both coasts.
