We are planning a vacation to Wisconsin in May. Any suggestions on "must see" quilt stores along the route from Minneapolis to Madison to Milwaukee to Green Bay and back to Minneapolis? We are not familiar with the area so if there is something we should definitely seek out, we don't want to miss it. Thanks much!

Madison has a nice one called JJS, they have a room full of 30s fabrics. I think its in Sun Prairie, right near Madison, have only been there a few times, but its really nice!

We have Quilting Plus in Warrens WI, this is near all the Cranberry bogs, there is the Cranberry Museum, and Cranberry wine! Not far off of I90,take I94 towards EauClaire.
Also Sparta WI has Quilt Corner, this is down town Sparta.

I live not far from Sparta! Couple others are Olive Juice, Nelson Flag~River Road Quilt Shop, Viroqua has the Quilt Basket.

The one just outside of Janesville is wonderful.

The Green Bay area has about 5 quilt stores, and a new one is going to be opening just off Hwy 29 west of town.

I did a web search to find them before I visited there. If you can't find all then contact one via e-mail and ask your questions and they'll be really helpful.

There are only a few in the Appleton area as I was told some closed. There is a quilting bed & breakfast in Appleton. It is the Appleton Inn, Quilt N Be Retreat House. http://www.bbonline.com/wi/appleton/index.html

Get a cup of coffee and here we go. 43 north out of Milwaukee. Menomonee Falls,The Quilted Basket ,nice shop/large selection has something for everyone. Go back to 43 go north next stop Cedarburg ,Ye olde Schoolhouse. I love this shop all civil war/primitive. And Material Matters, modern fabrics nice shop. Go back on 43 go north Plymouth, The Sewing Basket nice shop does alot of purses/bags/totes modern fabric. Go back to 43 north Sheboygan, My Sister's Quilt Shop, all modern fabrics. Go back to 43 north Denmark ,Kindred Spirits Quilt Shop all primitive/civil war.Nice shop.Go back to 43 north Greenbay, Quilter's Connection A little bit of everything and My favorite Quilt Shop. But if you really like primitive you need to go to Primitive Gatherings Quilt Shop west of 43 in Menasha. The owner has published books /patterns /fabric thru moda. I live in southeastern wisconsin and have a place up north. So on my way to and from I make alot of pit stops. There is also a nice shop in Neillsville ,Heart 2 Hands Quilt Shop. All these shops have web sites so check them out. Any questions :?:

Oh, I'm going to have to come back to this when I have time - we have to leave shortly and I shouldn't even be on here.

There's also the Mill...something one in Waunakee. Mill House Quilts! 100 Baker Street. Just looked it up. :) I hope to check that one out on Tues. :)
