Elle you took some beautiful pictures. What beautiful cities. I was showing them to Angel, his great-grandparents on his mother's side are from Spain and they immigrated here during WWII by invitation from then President Perone. God willing we would love to take a trip there.
Thank you so much for posting all the photos you took. We both enjoyed it so much.

Glad you enjoyed them Penny. It is a beautiful city, although the Graffiti "artists" have got to work on quite a lot of areas which I particularly donīt like,-----donīt ever tell me that is Art.

I spent a school year in Spain and did some touring with the school. The spaniards often parade with statues of saints/people on saints days -- which there are many. Small towns have their own saints, and then there are also holidays, etc. If I remember correctly, they also use them during funerals. So, such a sight is not uncommon. Bull runs through towns occur occasionally as a preliminary to a bull fight or town festival (they eat the bulls when they're done). If any of you go to Spain, don't just stay in the cities, there is also some great art and architecture in smaller towns, as well as festivals. Wish I could see the progress mayd on the Sagrada Familia cathedral.

Must have been nice Foxflower to spend some time here in Spain. They donīt use the statues in funeral at least not here in Andalucia. Maybe in Catalonya though.
The best one to watch is Semana Santa where they carry huge long Scenes of the crucifix, it take many men to carry them some as many at 50 men. these are paraded for miles with many stops along the way. A bell rings and it is lowered for the men to rest, several minutes pass and the bell rings again and it is lifted shoulder high and they walk again. As a penance some of the men walk barefoot or blindfold under the scene. Extrememly religious people here.
