Well, spent a day pulling all my fabrics, then another day going block pattern by block pattern and pulling my colors for each block. Then I took 2-3 days cutting the pieces for each block, and putting them in a zip lock and writing the block's pattern # on each. There are a total of 50 blocks, plus the large center block. I put all of the blocks in order in a box, and sewed my way from Block #1 to block 51. I made 6-8 blocks a week, did the border blocks that are around the large center block, and did the HST''s for the outer borders. I was having fun seeing each block completed, so the 2-3 months it took to get them all done was a happy time. Then I had the fun of the layout, switching blocks around, and making the final decision as to which of the 12" blocks I wanted in the center and getting the borders put around that one. Didn't really keep track of how long it too me from start to finish - best guess is about 5-6 months.

Thanks for the comment - to you and the rest of the QB members - I appreciate it. Really do like Lori's patterns - have 5-6 more of the large quilt size and 3-4 of the small/mini quilt patterns. There are a number of her patterns that you can interchange blocks between, which allows you to make the quilt bigger or just different than the original pattern without getting "brain strain" trying to resize a block. I like samplers because you are not making the same block over and over - but I do make those kind of quilts also. Lori's patterns are easy to follow and also they lend themselves well to handpiecing.
