Hey, Ditto! Two more candidates for the JTG club too!

As for the embroidery taking forever, at least you can do little bits of that in odd minutes (it's very portable too.) and some of the blocks have much less embroidery than this one.
Yes, it is portable, and I was working on it last night while feeding the kids their dinner. We won't talk about the drips of spaghetti sauce that landed on my white background!!! Thank goodness for Tide-to-go spot removers! Disaster averted and lesson learned!

Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful - each & every one on them.

The colors are terrific. Picking out the colors is like getting dressed when you're a teenager - nothing looks right or fits properly, so you end up with a pile of clean clothes on your floor, standing there in your underwear & your mother calls out - "school bus is here"!!! So you grab anything that you can get hold of, throw it on and race out the door. Funny thing is that nobody pointed & laughed at you or said anything nasty to you.

I love playing with my batiks, but when it comes right sown to it, I put fabrics together start sewing and pray they look OK together. And, they do! I'm beginning to think that with batiks, you can't make a mistake.

it's actually turquoise, not sure if it's using a flash on a night time, i'm going to take a pic of the material outside and see what it does lol...

i agree with the batiks statement... i don't think you can go wrong!
look at kaffe fassett's work, he mixes all his colours and the quilts come out even more outstanding!!!
    i say 'go for it'!!

2 turquoise blocks outside in natural light.

At last I have managed to finish my Block 9, very addictive, the time just passed so quickly. I originally had gold thread but it was a total pain to work with so I found some really pretty silk thread which is slightly multi tonal and I like the effect it gave.

Oh Jacquie...yes...that changed the whole thing! The color outside looks phenominal! I think you made a great choice. *scratching my head and wondering why I didn't go with brighter colors....oh yeah...it won't fit in my color scheme in my house...blast it all!*

Elle....that block looks sooo pretty! I like the look of that thread too.

Just went back a few pages to see the work. Wow! All of the work is just fantastic! Laura, I LOVE the way yours turned out with the light background!!! Stunning. Everyone's work is done so well -- I just hope mine will look decent. I'm way slow!
