That's true - there is nothing that gets my husband motivated than thinking that his delicate little flower of a wife (NOT!) is going to try to do some "man's work". He's sure I'll screw it up and he wants it done right, so he runs to the rescue. LOL works every time.

Usually, I just ask him to help me decide how it should be done, arranged, etc. That gets him involved and he gives ideas I may not have thought of.

Anytime I would ask for something I always got it the carpenter's way. That guy would do things his way, if I said something my DH would always say '' He knows what he is doing''. One day I just registered for a woodworking course at the Adult Education. My project was the railing for a 37' gallery. I repeated the course to make the slats. In June I asked him if he wanted to put that up or if I would do it by myself. Never had any problem after that, he knew that if I didn't get exactly what I wanted I could use a saw and a hammer! Carpentry and sewing are alike , the only difference a 5/8 or 1/4 seam.

Apple pie always works at my house--and make sure you do not forget the cinnamon. Be sure he sees you making it, then ask him to help you while it bakes!
Peach pie if he does not like apples.

Thanks for all the suggestions! I will use them, my usual tactic is to wait forever, get mad and then do it myself!
