I'm waiting on my concealed weapons as we speak. :) Should be here in the next week or so. I've carried a gun in my car for years though (Sig 45). In MS your car is considered an extension of your home so it's legal to carry a weapon in it without a permit. I've got a gun under my side of the mattress as well (Browning 9mm). I shoot all regularly and am very comfortable doing so.

I've seen the concealed weapon purses at the gun shows but I think they're super ugly. :P I've decided what I'll do is modify any purses I carry to hold the holster for my gun in one of the side pockets. The holster is an inside waist style so it has a snug metal clamp that holds well agaist a flap of material. I'm going to be carrying a Ruger 380 so I won't need a lot of room in the pocket.

I'll be watching this thread to see if any patterns pop up that I like.

What a great thing! I never thought of making my own cases. I could make one for each of my shotguns and my rifle. Trying to talk hubby into buying me a pistol, but I just bought a Tin Lizzie so it will be awhile. :/

I think cotton and batting would be plenty strong enough for a pistol. They aren't as heavy as one would think. Heck, we put flour and sugar in cotton sacks.

BTW my turkey season is this weekend! Woo hoo!

The only thing I want to toss into this thread is, I work in the retail business of selling guns and work everyday with ccw instructors and police officers. They always remind us ladies that even though ccw handbags are a great idea remember, What is the first thing they try to take from a lady her purse! I perfer to carry on my person.

I think so too. It always concerns me about the sturdiness of material to hold a hand gun. I tend to stay with the leather ones.

My Walther 380 weighs 19.4 oz w/the magazine. That's about the same as my wallet! I'd put both in a quilted bag, no problem. But I DO agree with the carry on your person peeps! It just depends on where I'm going :-)
