I had to share... I did an extra swap with lisalisa and her theme is the music group "Counting Crows". I'm a country music gal so I didn't know their music. She gave me a challenge and off I went and did my research. They have a song called Angels in America (Don't know what is sounds like). An Idea popped in my head and this is what I came up with. I love a challenge and when my creative juices flow LOL.

Yeah you really rose to the challenge. I didn't know you were a country girl. They have a few country songs.

That said, I like where you went with it so I'm glad I didn't lead you down any particular path.

I really love having you all involved in this. There is no way I could have such a diverse perspective. The crows have so many visuals in their songs to play from. It's gonna be the coolest quilt EVAH!

Neece, my sister ,lightening57 said to tell you your April swap block will be in the mail Thursday. Sorry she is late. She hasn't received yours yet, either.

I have had TERRIBLE computer problems lately! I was infected with a virus that corrupted a bunch of my files, and MANY of my pictures. Unfortunately, this has not only made me fall way behind on posting pics of the wonderful blocks I have been receiving, but I also seem to have fallen behind on PMing to let you know I have received your blocks. The virus is no excuse for this oversight / lack of consideration, and I am SOOOOOO SORRY!!!!

I think I have finally gotten the virus removed now. I have lost the information on who sent me some blocks, and I confess to being too lazy to go through all the hundreds of pages to see which I have posted, so here are all the wonderful blocks I have received during the April and May swaps.

If I have mis-labeled your blocks, or not included your name, please forgive me! If you PM me and let me know, I will gladly fix it! This whole computer virus mess has made me a mental wreck!!!

btw.... even with all the trouble this darn computer virus has caused, I consider myself VERY LUCKY ~ aren't these blocks all FABULOUS?!?!?!

On a brighter note, I said a few pages ago that I would not "take a bow" yet for the paper piecing. Well.......

    Now I will! :D

I have 2 completed blocks that will be going out in tomorrow's mail. They are far from perfect, and I am still learning, but I now consider myself a Paper Piecer, rather than a lousy OBW.

p.s. I still have a lot to learn about PP, but I am even worse at modifying templates than I am at PP for now. I could not get my printer to make the template for the whirly-gig star the right size, so I drew up my own.... now the outer points don't make points any more. Will have to do more modifi-cations on my templates before I make more of them.

my version of the wonderful whirly-gig star, in "chocolates"
