    These were a few of my first blankets, I made one other but my father is sending a me a picture. These were made of my friends late mother's clothing.

    My friend picked her backing based on what each of her children liked, so it didn't match the quilt but had very special meaning.

    Thanks guys! I was wondering what method did you use to attach appliques and designs to your quilts? Do you use a stitch or special foot or iron on? I'm wanting to learn what is most popular and best quality.

    I attached my appliquéd trying out ruthe decorative stitches on my machine. Great way to LearN the stitches!!

    Amanda, what a great memory quilt!
    I usually use heat and bond lite or wonder under. Then I satin stitch around the applique.
    Have fun with it...watch some tutorials on utube and get creative!
