I was a 4-H member for 4 years and that is where I met my husbands sister. I took clothing and entered a make it with wool contest and made a pant suit; also did swine and home decorating. About 2 years out of 4-H I married my friends brother !!!

I was in 4-H as a young teenager. I lived so far out in the country that it was hard to participate. This was back in the early '50's and most of the road to town was dirt. I won a pair of scissors for something I sewed and I still have them.

I wasn't a 4-H member, but all three of my kids were. I was a project leader for about 12 years. We did horse and livestock. Great programs!

I was in 4-H from 9-12 before we moved and there wasn't a club. That's where I made my first (and last) angel food cake by hand with a wire whisk, but I wouldn't trade anything for the experience.

My boys were semi-active and then joined FFA with their animals. So now I'm working on my grandson to do 4-H activities, and he loves it. He can't wait to go to 4-H Camp again this summer.

I've worked in the Extension Office for almost 30 years, and I especially love the 4-H work. It's a wonderful program for youth.

i was in 4-h for years... i showed horses & did a lot of riding competitions... loved it...

my grandfather was high up in the 4 h organization, so during the county fair, we got to skip the whole week of school & stay overnite in the horse barns... no grown ups.. all of us 12-16 or so years old...

i think they'd lock you up if you leave kids in a barn like that today!

I was in 4-H at the age of 8 throughout high school. Won many ribbons and ect... from sewing to gardening and all animals. My boys are now in 4-H and mainly doing archery. They have showed their rabbits (grand champion) and bucket babies.

I did 4-H sewing, baking, horse and group singing contest. My three children did animal projects of rabbit, chicken, and horse.Horse competed at state level showing and judging. Sewing which included modeling and judging and home environment projects at county and state levels. My son and daughters equally enjoyed doing all areas. My youngest daughter even took the Quilt project offered these days. I still do some judging and serve on Extension Board and Fair Board to stay involved.

I moved to Idaho from boarding school in the midwest, entered the sewing club of 4-H when I started high school and completed the seven course units in sewing by taking two each year, finished at 18 with a wool suit. Competition judging was great experience, as I later entered and won in adult competion in "make it yourself in wool" until I was no longer eligible. 4-H standards from those years have forced me to take out many a seam to make it perfect....Thanks for the memories!
