I have tons of those things. It helps tremendously! Of course, my personal preference is reds, yellows and greens, but other folks I make quilts for might want someting different, or have no clue or dislike my color choice, so i have these little gems to help me decied on combinations!

The other thing that works is to pick out a material print you really like, then use the computer dots on the side of the print to match up your colors.
I was at two quilt meetings and these dots were brought up as something to save in order to get coordinating color palettes without having to do a lot of thinking about them.
Needless to say, I'm doing a lot of review of my prints now for those dots!

Thank you so much!!! I need help so bad with putting together colors..I can do like a print with a solid but putting prints with prints together, I have a very hard time..Going to try this ;)
What I do with prints is vary the size of the print - a large print, a med print, and/or a tiny print. And if you are trying to decide if 2 or more prints go together, step back several feet and squint. This blurs out details and you can see contrast between the print sizes. It works for me, but my choices are not always perfect either. LOL
