Worst way you've seen your good sewing scissors mistreated?

My son (as a young teenager) once wanted to show me that they were not nearly as sharp as I kept warning him about, so he opened them up and dragged his thumb all the way down the length of the blade---fast. I made him clean up the blood off the kitchen floor himself and then clean the scissors. He was fine, just really embarrassed, BTW. My scissors were respected from then on.

Boy can I relate to this! When my gf offered to clean my house when I was sick last fall I was thrilled. All of a sudden she sherks, there is a pin in the vacuum cleaner hose. What does she grab??? My sharp Dova applique' scissors to pull it out. Now, I've nice little nick in the center of them. My heart breaks everytime I use them because I can feel the click.

My teenage son used my best Wiss to cut electrical wire for a school project. When I decided to let him live (he wished he had died), he decided he would replace them with another very expensive brand for me for Christmas. Since he had no job, it didn't take long to find out he used my bank card to withdraw money at the ATM. Bank wanted to prosecute. Hubby wanted to kill. Sent him to live with his dad. Now he has 3 boys, 2 of them twins! Life is good!
