Thanks to BettyB and her group of quilting friends who hand quilted it. The Shreveport Times had an article on the quilt with a picture in today's paper (6/2/11). The festival is this Sat (6/4/11) in Gilliam if anyone is this area would like to come. I'll be working the children's art booth. Gilliam is off Hwy 71 north of Shreveport. Pictures are being attached ( hope).
Anita you did a great job with the pictures. My friend in Ringgold is sending me the write up in the paper about the quilt and festival. Hope you all have a sucessful festival. I love it...so bright and cheery. My husband and I were in Shreveport tonight (6/3/11) visiting relatives. I didn't know there was a Sunflower Festival in north Louisiana. Great idea using children's art for festival t-shirts.

Love the Sunflower quilt and I think it is fantastic that you decided to put it on display in the museum. Great job.

I learned on this quilt that I have lots of knowledge but no experience. No experience means trial and error and some goofs. I wanted to put the children's names on their block but couldn't figure it out. I plan on doing it later after some experimenting. Thank all of you for your comments and pats on the back. I emailed them to some of the festival members so they could see and be just as proud as I am. If anyone is interested in patterns, send me a PM and I'll see what I can do.
