I like the second one especially if there is overhang the border will really stand out as well as the pattern in the main part of the quilt.
    this is really sharp...

Both borders are beautiful, but I think I like the narrow black border/binding. It's simple, but elegant and makes the blocks stand out more, but the read is also pretty. Now hope that helps, but seriously, I liked the first one better, as having the strip of background and then the black makes the blocks float. Great fabric by the way.

I've made the BQ before--as well as the fairly new BQ3.

Love your BQ3...very pretty. These quilts look so difficult, when in reality they are fairly easy. Nice job on yours!

I like the second one, it really enhances the inner blocks of the same fabric.

I think the first really draws your eyes to the quilt itself.

If it were me, I would put a small 3 inch border of the cream, then a 1 inch of the black to frame, then a larger border of the red. But that is me. Whatever you do will be gorgeous. Beautiful quilt. :D :D :D
So when you look at the first picture just add the red after the black and then the binding in black.
