It is beautiful. You said you made the blocks smaller. What size did you make your blocks and how wide is the black sashing around your blocks?

Wow, I really like that. I would love to make one for a crib in just primary colors with black....but first I have to finish off my flannel nightmare.

I have the magazine and a ton of blue/blacks batiks that I had planned to make this exact pattern out of. Yours turned out beautifully.

Would love to know your finished size since you said you made the blocks smaller. What sizes are your blocks and did you make the sashing smaller than what the pattern calls for also?

I made the blocks 5 x 7...and yes I made the sashing smaller--1.25" Here's the trick: Once you decide on the width of the main strips--(they should be about 2" different)--then add whatever width sashing you want--iron, then measure the width of each strip set and cut the other set in pieces that match. Then all the blocks are the same!

Thank you so much for the info!! What were the final dimensions of your quilt? And are the 5x7 and 1.25 your cut size or your finished sewing size? Again, thanks and sorry I am asking so many questions.

    Hugs to you.....
