I'm pretty sure you could use car wax (the turtle kind of hard wax) to shine up the machine. Would need some buffing.

I scrubbed AnnieRose with a toothbrush and Oxyclean. She obviously had lived with a smoker. Yeesh! Then came a light coat of wax. After I apply some decals I've purchased for her, she will get a coat of my best car wax. Miss AR looks good now and she will look better.

Great find and price! Once you piece with a slant needle, you won't go back. Plus the vertical bobbin feeds the bobbin thread better for FMQ than a horizontal one does. I don't like changing the vertical bobbin, but I can live with it.

Not true. My black one is very nice & shiny!! :-)
My 3 brown ones are shiny too. I clean them with GOJO and then apply some Auto wax on them.

Reminds me of the one that is in my moms house. She sewed many an item on that.

I have one similar to this I bought in the early 60s. I don't use it now but am thinking of getting it serviced and using it...mine has cams...does yours?

Wonderful find, lucky you! Clean it up with WD-40 and a soft rag, that will safely remove any grime accumulated.
