Quilt in action - back of pickup!
#21
When my FIL passed away my MIL made everyone a quilt. I had it in the closet but pulled it out last year and have been using it. It needs a minor repair but I love it! I hope the ones I make for family uses theirs all the time.

I think it is fantastic that the quilt is loved, used, and part of creating happy memories for the kids. By the way, when my daughter taught school in Nebraska, she told the kids she was from Virginia. They wanted to know if we still wore Pilgrim clothing here, so maybe it is the "Wilds" of Virginia.

The first quilts I made were for the grandchildren, of course, and I told their parents that the kids were to use them. What does Daddy do?? Hangs them on the wall. I give my quilts to be used and burped on and whatever else comes it's way.
I also made a quilt for my Mom. When she passed away and was cremated, the quilt went with her.
Memories of all sorts come with our quilts.

I think its a fine idea...in your second picture the little boys appear to be looking at the quilt... how great is that... during dust storms in the "days of yore" in the U.S.A. midwest, quilts were stuffed under the doors and openings to keep out the dust/sand... many uses for our quilts... and all for protection or warmth and cuddling... what could be better...
