What is it about the Spartan's that made them stay so ptistine! I have one I got this summer in a stand and it looks equally as nice as the photo above.

I really thought I had hit the jackpot when I found this box of 30 needles in the drawer of My Fair Lady (my avatar) that I got last year. The very faded lettering on the top of the box says Wheeler & Wilson and the end of the box says No 6 long round pts. W & W High Speed Extra Finish. Unfortunately, most of the needles have a tiny bit of corrosion on them. I guess I won't be selling rusty needles. Even so, I think they're pretty cool.

Anyone familiar with Singer model 185J?
I have one that is in excellent condition..
...and have found another one - picking it up this afternoon or tomorrow morning.

This machine is in a cabinet.
I've not seen one with a black motor, light assembly and foot controller.
They appear to be identical to the ones on my other 185 as far as appearance.

I'm thinking they are replacements from one time or another in its lifetime.

    Any other suggestions?

It is locked into our VSMS virtual forum so we can be able to see it from the main page. And if you guys want feel free to post the attachments in use and show us what they can do. With all of our different makes and models this should be a really neat thread.

I wish I was closer! I might try and mail him and see if I can just buy the machine and he can mail it to me!

I'm closer then you Billy but not close enough. I really want one of those.
Just drive up! Make a special trip by driving up Route 5, stop off at Harris Ranch for a nice meal, head to San Jose to pick up the Davis NVF, visit some very nice quilting stores in the Bay Area, visit the City (SF), while there look at All Saints on Maiden Lane window display of vintage sewing machines, and head back after making a quick stop to visit me in the East Bay. :) I should be a tour director.

Someone please pick up this machine!!!!!!

What is a good price for a FW without a case? Is it worth buying?
