Maybe put some buttons on it where the yellow grid intersects or put some ribbon through and tie it or put some yo-yo pieces
at the intersections to break up the yellow.

Actually I thought just the opposite!! I didn't think the window panes were bright enough to compliment the stripes!! If it were mine, I would add another border, maybe a blue to both compliment the yellow and pick up the brighter colors in the quilt. I really like the color assortment in the blocks!

I'd add a border at least an inch wider than the sashing. For that I would choose one of the bright colors from the blocks, then bind it using navy or black or any dark color that is also in the blocks. It would balance the deep colors of the blocks and let the yellow give it a happy pop. I think its very pretty. I love yellow, reminds me of the sun.

I made one just like that except sashing in black. It made the bright colors stand out. the yellow is beautiful.

Your quilt is beautiful. Think of the yellow as sunshine. I love it.

I personally think your quilt is very pretty. I'm not a yellow person either, but sometimes it's neat to step outside our comfort zone and use colors we might not usually use. I'd finish it and give it as the gift it was intended to be. It is beautiful and they will love it.

It looks good. I like the yellow. It is not too bright.
