BTW, love the little bit of your quilt that the pic shows...how about a shot of the whole quilt???
It is the new sole. I can't believe it took them this long to do this foot. It is great.

I will definitely be posting the finished quilt. I received alot of help here putting it together so I will be excited to show it off!

I was wondering how the SID foot helps with binding. Is it for sewing the binding down on front after you've already stitched it down on back? I use the walking foot for binding now, sewing it to the front, and then I hand stitch the back.

Yes. Once you've sewn the binding to the back the guide is supposed to help the stitches on the back be straighter and more invisible. We'll see how that part works when I do the binding.

I'm actually looking forward to doing the binding on this quilt. I hope it goes faster as well.

Oh you definitely should! Even my seams that did not match perfectly still came out looking decent. Also, I pressed the blocks and seams very well and they were all butted. I am sure that all of those factors played into the sucess that I had.

That being said, on the last quilt that I did of the same pattern with the same methods as above the SID quilting did not come out as nicely.

I bought my walking foot a few years ago, and use it mainly for stich in the ditch. I didn't know that they had different sole plates for it. I'll be adding that to my shoping list!

They just came out with the new sole plate. I found out when I went to get a new walking foot for my 830 LE.

I also have the stitch in the ditch foot for Viking. It's called a joing foot. Have shied away from stitching in the ditch, but after using it for the first time to sew a flang on pillow shams I am Sold!! I could sew faster and got great results. Next I will try it for binding as was suggested on this list.
