    The pattern is in the book by Fons and Porter "Quick Quilts from the Heart." The pattern starts on page 14. My quilt looks different from the quilt in the book because I didn't use two colors on each fan blade and I used the french braided border. I hope this will help you understand. Good luck. I am hand quilting another Quilt like this but this time I will use the same border that is on the quilt in the book.

    i have purchased the book quick quilts from the heart liz porter and marianne fons and the pattern is not in this book the only tie pattern is blocks made of men shirts with the tie one the shirt. I'm looking for the 6 ties in a fan style is there maybe another book out there? please let me know i'm dieing to start this quilt. my email [email protected] thank you dora leite from ri

    your quilt looks like ties the fans seem to be different I'll give it a try thanks for the info

    You have the right book. I see the one that you are talking about. The one I made is on page 14. I did not make it with fabric like the one shown. It take two different fabrics for each blade. I used the small end of the tie. I cut it off and put the pattern template-A on page 17 on the tie and used the rotary cutter to cut around it. It take six ties for each square. I hope this helps you understand a little bit more. If you need any more help I am here.

    I got it thanks so much for your help I would have never figured it out by myself thank you I can't wait to start. I'm a housekeeper and asked all my clients to go through there ties and any they were ready to get ride of to give to me. I work for people all over the world so my assortment is wonderful.

    Hello lovetoquilt...your tie quilt is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen..you have a great talent..I have read all pages to see your post on what book and pattern this is..the only thing I have not found is what month and year the book is...if you have time please help me..I am having trouble finding this book..I have been looking for a long time to make a silk tie quilt and I have fallen in love with your quilt...I hope one day to show this in our quilt show in texas...Thanks ..
