The power company just anounced in our area everyone now has power except for some in the Williamsburg area. We were lucky; ours flickered a couple of times and went out for about a minute but that was all. I've lived in my house for about 20 yrs and the longest that I've lost power was 4 days after the last hurricane hit. I was amazed that it was back on so fast; the storm took out almost all of our polls. Other than that only a couple of times for maybe an hour or two. I think surrounding cities have more problems with outages because they have a lot of tall pines and they snap eaier in high winds.

I can understand that. I think you have had enough excitement for a year

Hi! What part of VA are you in? I am in Chester and were lucky and did not lose power at all this time. Blessed I should say, our generator broke while we were prepping it and everyone around us lost power! Glad you are back on!

Glad you had no damage from Irene. Also glad you got the "power"........Fran (1996) left us without power for about 7 days and ice storm 2001 left us for about 10 days. I truly appreciate my power at all times.
